Pete Seeger

In 1958 when I began attending UW Madison, Pete Seeger tried to book a concert on the Madison campus. The House Un-American Affairs Commitee, led by WI Senator Joseph McCarthy of Appleton saw to it that the concert was canceled. It was a benighted time in US history.That did not stop Pete, and he is still singing for what he believes.
