Not just another postcard: right Bach at you

ONE DAY
I WAS RUNNING IN THE WOODS
NEAR PEMBINE WISCONSIN
BACK IN THE SEVENTIES
- AND -
A COLORFUL BIRD, A PILEATED,
BIG, RARE, PREHISTORIC
FLEW ALONG SIDE OF ME
FROM TREE TO TREE
AS I LOPED ALONG DOWN THIS
LONELY PATH
IT KEPT UP WITH ME
FROM TREE TO TREE
AND FROM TREE TO TREE.
I HAD TO LOOK UP WHAT IT WAS
AND I HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN IT.
THANKS TO SID AND HIS FAITHFUL
AND TRUE WIFE MARY
FOR ALL THEY HAVE MEANT TO ME

A MAN DOESN'T GET THAT LUCKY OFTEN
TO HAVE FRIENDS AND COMPANIONS
LIKE THEM.

.....

Thanks to my son Lee
who set me up with
the Sewer Raccoon News,
an English lit major home from school
to visit his mom and dad,
he set the format with the green
background color
& everything
for me.

I didn't expect to have such a long run
with the SRN. I didn't expect I would
use electronic magic to
push snail mail.

Lucky?
Things like these are
a much bigger deal than that.
