Got my mojo woikin'; Mome raths outgrabe; No more flat pumpkinry

Muddy Waters
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hEYwk0bypY
has his Mojo workin'
but it just don't work on you.......

We put our magic to work
on the window sill
to help attract operators to the Clarke Hotel
and the long-vacant restaurant below.

Little frogs rise up and bow down
as though praying on an Eastern prayer rug,
by day, and illuminated by night:

IT IS a little battery-powered 'perpetual' motion device
from China by way of Bayfield WI
and we keep freshly-recharged batteries in it
since we began this exercise,
day and night
night and day.....

So far the lights are still dark across the street
 at Herman Salen's former Walgreen's
drug store at the Five Points of Waukesha
but true downtowners aren't anything
if not optimistic of change.

.......

Dee looks east
and is out there right now
at her family's farm
her mom, dad and siblings
enjoy her presence for  5 days
a rare visit.

This photo was earlier
at the Bryant sector of the riverwalk...

Soon after she returns
we will celebrate our 30th anniversary together.
She has stuck with me no  matter what
no matter what
she is stuck with me, but:

She Walks in Beauty

BY LORD BYRON (GEORGE GORDON)
She walks in beauty, like the night
   Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that’s best of dark and bright
   Meet in her aspect and her eyes;
Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.

One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impaired the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
   Or softly lightens o’er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express,
How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.

And on that cheek, and o’er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!

And while she's away
we work on the raccoon
with her picture propped to
the left of the screen

and KD Cat solicits my sole attention regularly.

When she gets back Monday......

it may be Slivovitz-time!

THE JABBERWOCKY

(Below:  from our wallet card)

Jabberwocky
by Lewis Carroll, 1872

You want a monster?
Has just-exited Halloween left you bereft?
We'll give you a monster.
We carry this around in our wallet
folded, for when we need it.
