Raccoons in the sewer part of "the pattern", versus despoilers

EARTH DAY 2008
THANKS BE.
To the late WI senator Gaylord Nelson and to all the many who have attempted to raise consciousness of our common ship's plight, as we hurtle ever-diminishedly through expanding space; and thanks to Nelson's latter-day incarnation, Nobel winner Al Gore.
No thanks to the monkey's wrenches who consider it appropriate (and profitable) to gum up the works with failure, refusal to recognize the effects of global warming, diminishing habitat, inconsiderate use of the planet's dwindling resources, and all the etceteras.
Thanks today, incidentally, to GOOGLE, which has altered its usual logo with a beautiful Earth Day representation.
................................................
and mainly:
Thanks be to God, for the earth is His and the fullness thereof:
These words, found in Psalm 24:1, are quoted by Paul in 1 Corinthians 10:26, 28. The earth is the Lord’s, yet "He hath given the earth to the children of (men)" (Ps. 115: 16). Because of this, (hu)mankind - ed. note: and all creatures, including raccoons - enjoy its "fullness". "For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God" (Heb. 6:7). "For He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust" (Matthew 5: 45). These are by some called "the uncovenanted mercies of God." Yet the covenant made with Noah, attested by the rainbow, embraced mankind, so that, "While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease".
Where are we now?
"While the earth remaineth?"
