Herring for New Years

Ma Baensch's herring in wine sauce, our favorite. A New Years tradition, though we eat it all year round. Some Jalapeno Old Tavern cheese from Waukesha, and a small glass of vodka, neat. Puts New Years all together for me. Some Hoppin' John later........a good fire going.
