Stepping out onto the upper garden deck at dawn we saw, in the non-shade of the needle-barren Tamarack tree, a group of Chickadees feeding from the rain-softened green lichen. Able to tear off pieces of the growth, they fed their bellies. It was the first time we saw that particular example of the continuance of life after death.
We can only wish we saw the poetry (or the scriptural underpinnings) in that..............
