They came down from Resthaven Hill

A murder of crows this morning
descended on the trash
lined up on the leafless street
blatantly, with loud
caws
announcing their winged scavanger
haws,
these flagrant blackbirds stuffed garbage
hungrily
into their
maws.
Plastic bags torn with big beaks,
no sir,
not with land-borne claws,
they furiously ripped and tore
the straightly-lined bags
without pause.
(I saw it all from the deck,
camera-ready,
'twas
the beginning of
an unbarred crow wreck,
Caw-Caw!)
.
Let returning job tenders
not blame the sewer raccoons
this time when they fly by gawd
into their air-blown driveways
this evening;
I s-a-w.
