At last - Snowdrops!

Sue, our western Waukesha co. correspondent and floral specialist, sent a photo (above) of the first snowdrops pushing up through her frosty but thawing yard. Now, we shall have to check our usual-suspect section of our plot to see if we have any. It's time!

These blooms are the first ones we see in earliest spring, pushing up usually through the melting snow. Next come the crocuses, or crocae. The earth, tilting on its axis, brings these welcome flowers forth like clockwork. You can set your sundial on it.
