Here comes the sun

When we reported yesterday of the Snowdrops in bloom in Dousman, it put us in mind of the old framed Vista poster in the basement, a Saul Alinsky quote: We will either find a way, or make one.
As courageous flowers such as Crocus and Snowdrops push up through the still frozen ground, it is indeed one more miracle. The legendary tale of the two travelers to the Great Wall of China also comes to mind:
One traveler, from the West, sees a flower growing in the mortar, and being of an empiral bent, puzzles at first over just how such a thing can happen.
He plucks the flower, roots and all, from its mooring and pockets it for later investigation in his laboratory.
The second traveler, from the East, sees a similarly 'bold' flower. He wonders at it, sits down and contemplates the beauty and miraculous fortitude of nature, then passes on, leaving the flower intact, perhaps for other viewers to likewise appreciate.
The great eneregy force of nature that enables such herbal conduct, whether pushing up from frozen ground or through mortar or to seemingly thrive in concrete cracks, to live, to fulfill destiny(?), comes from the sun. Let us welcome it as it returns to our latitudes.
The sun this March 6th is indeed coming. Let us rejoice and be glad in it!
