Off-center belt, revisited:

In the 50's we used to apply Butch Wax liberally to our uniform crew cuts, or "Butches." Then, butch came to mean something entirely different. But let us not chide our youthful incarnations for their mousses and gels. Trying to keep a haircut that was leveled with a transit at the top straight up with wax was equally exercising and affected, or more-so. [Ref.: YIBAWEAN Society]

Stew, of eastern Ohio, steamfitter and art welder, wrote last night about the off-center belts:

wow I did that off and on since I was a kid. There is a reason for wearing the belt off center, besides keeping it from poking u in the belly , bent over working on your car or bike u would not scratch it , and if u played guitar, same thing.thanks bro stew
