Several years ago we wanted to give our children something seasonal to read. We picked a beautifully illustrated book from Schwartz Book Store, THE HOBBIT.

The children raised by Dee and me - Erin and Leland - were read to at an early age and were encouraged to read, read, read later on their own.
To make a long story short, both Erin and Lee pursued education for their careers. Erin is the University Archivist at Lawrence University. Lee is a 5th grade teacher in a disadvantaged school in Houston TX.
Both offspring encourage other children, their students, to read, read, read.
