Christmas Coign of Vantage: SR News

Christmas blessings
and raccoon prescience
to you
This is St. Nicholas Day, Dec. 6th, and we hung the wreath as is our custom on the nail by the back door.
The ladies of the First Congregational Church are having their wreath sale pick-up today.
A birdhouse roof carries a load of fresh-fallen snow. We got another three inches last night.

We've hung apple peel strips to dry around the elephant gourd trunk. Something will come of them, we just don't know what, yet.
Maybe we'll candy them and hang them in the spruce tree outside the window here for the birds and raccoons. Some will say, "TSK-TSK! You should not feed raccoons CANDY!"
But they have not seen the raccoons that live here in the district.
They loves candy. "More! MORE!!"

St. Nicholas made his annual visit here last night, it appeared, leaving the traditional bag of gold chocolate coins by the hearth.

Carol, wife of the late lawnist next door, has been a widow for over a year and has not operated Joe's snowblower. His standards were high. Today she stared at it in her garage and said (she reports): "I've got it, might as well USE it!" Her look of satisfaction as she gained mastery of the machine was priceless.
Joe would have been/is pleased!
