He is coming

It's interesting:

Why is today unlike other days? So asks Jewish ritual. We have partaken of religious Saders, and we know what a profound question that can be.

It's unlike other days here at the SRN because it is unique gift of continued life.

Early this morning we stepped outside and found raccoon tracks around the apple peels stripped from the fruit by an old machine we have and put on a scattering of bird seed on the snow. The peels had been taken last night, so we added some more, strips that resemble leather thongs but must be tasty and just the thing for the raccoons (and other foragers about).
We did not candy them.

The copper laundry boiler/wood bin is filled. The gnome awaits. The gourd rattles await shaking. The ukelele awaits playing. The little boy and his playmates over the mantle watch for something or Someone Who is coming.............
Then, it must be Merry, Everything!
