TEMPUS FUGITING, with raccoons

Following a recent snowfall an entrance was made into December in Waukesha, and there were visible raccoon tracks outside. But our attention was directed to Resthaven Hill, across Arcadian Ave, and clearly visible out the kitchen window (the new kitchen window).
Resthaven is an historic site in this neighborhood.
Once a resort, it is now home to New Tribes Bible Institute. This incarnation trains missionaries for work in the South American jungles. From their perch atop the hill, "New Tribes" keeps a low profile in this advanced settlement. As they are peopled by folks well-acquainted with various animal life, we assume the raccoon presence here in the district does not exercise them greatly, and in fact, may be welcomed.
In the editor's youth he used to play on Resthaven hill. He would perhaps be skiing down the slopes over there today, if it were the 1940's. In summer he caught grass snakes there. Today he photographs a snowy scene indoors on the threshold of winter. And he is 72.
