A story in the current The New Yorker tells about a family of raccoons that invaded a domicile and played a part, albeit small, in the break-up of the homeowners. The photo shown above from the magazine suggests that coons can rear up and be downright destructive. They can bear their teeth, if cornered. The prehensile raccoon feet and sharp claws had a "hand" in it.
Just be careful is all we're saying! Practice timidity! They're coming!
